Proverbs 6:6-8

Meals Ready to Eat

Do you have a disaster readiness plan for you and your family? It seems that a disaster is always just around the corner. Fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, snow storms, threats of terrorism, power outages, etc. I think it is wise to have a plan for back-up. There are various websites that will help you do this to include FEMA.

Our family has a disaster plan. We learned our lesson during Katrina and had a plan for Ike which includes MRE's, water supplies, communcation sources (i.e., portable radio, TV, and Twitter.com), bedding, first aid, back-up fuel plans, and home and personal protection.

I still need to put some things together like in this video below.

"Emergency Preparedness" - Bug Out Bag (BOB) - TacticalPodcast.com

Proverbs 6:15 - "Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed - without remedy."

You may run into scoffers if you plan for disaster. Fellow believers may view you as not "trusting" God. They forget verses in in the bible that tell us it is wise to plan for disaster. The food we have reserved for disaster is not our everyday food. We don't concern ourselves with what we will eat today, nor in times of disaster. Take care of your families, we do live in dangerous times and in times of chaos, water, food, and fuel are in short supply. Better to have a plan.
