Built to Live, Proverbs 3

"My son do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years . . ."

Proverbs 3:1

"Isolated DNA"

Advances in science and molecular biology have lead to longer life. Eating, breathing, working, and procreating is not really living (there is lot's more to life for sure). Our hearts and minds were created to thrive in a realm that celebrates the author of the universe. The more we know, the less we realize that we know about our creator. Wisdom offers us a chance to glean the ways of a just God, one who delights in a challenge. A God who values honor and integrity and those who seek out knowledge and wisdom and his ways. Our journey never stops, there are more realms to discover.

"Intelligent Design" The DNA Dilemma

Proverbs 3:16 - "Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor."

Want to live longer? Who doesn't? Many baby boomers now in their 60's are worried about their health and the number of their days. We are never promised any more days than what we have been allowed, but God clearly says that he is prepared to extend our days. Why would he do this? I still don't understand why he cuts some lives short and gives more days to others. That will remain a mystery.

A summation of life by Solomon:

"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter. Fear God and keep his commands, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing whether good or evil."

Ecclesiastes 12:13
